League of Legends client and connection checks
An evidence-first order for login, patcher and in-game connection problems.
Diagnostic order
- Check Riot service notices and the exact error.
- Restart the client and platform network cleanly.
- Use Riot repair or support escalation when needed.
Separate client, platform and network
Check Riot service status and the platform login before changing local files. If the client opens but a match fails, capture the queue, region and exact message; if the client itself will not update or launch, the repair path is different. Test another online service on the same network to see whether the failure is broader.
Use Riot’s repair path
Keep the Riot Client and game current, close overlays and security software only for a controlled test, and use the official repair or log-collection tools. Do not download a replacement DLL, edit random registry keys or disable the firewall permanently. Record whether the repair changes the symptom and restore any temporary test setting.
Useful support report
Provide the Riot ID if requested, region, operating system, client version, exact error, time, network type and the official steps already tried. Remove tokens, passwords and personal files from logs or screenshots. This lets support distinguish a server incident, authentication problem, corrupted client or local network issue.
