VALORANT crosshair basics: make it readable first
A simple framework for choosing colour, outline, movement and firing settings.
Stable starting point
- Use a high-contrast colour for your usual maps.
- Disable movement and firing errors while learning fundamentals.
- Save the code or screenshot after testing.
What a useful crosshair does
A VALORANT crosshair should stay visible against the maps you play, leave enough centre space to read a head and avoid covering the exact point you are trying to hold. Start with a simple static profile, then change one property—colour, outline, gap, thickness or movement error—after you can name the problem it solves.
Static versus feedback
Movement and firing error indicators can teach a beginner that accuracy changes while moving or spraying, but they also add visual noise. Keep them during practice if they answer a learning question; disable them in a match when they distract you. The choice is a trade-off, not a universal competitive rule.
Profiles and imports
Save a small set of profiles for different visibility conditions and verify any imported code inside VALORANT before using it. Do not download executables or “aim fixes” advertised alongside a crosshair. If the crosshair resets, record the profile name, patch and client behaviour before contacting Riot support.
