Warzone connection errors: identify service or local causes

A safe order for service status, platform network and local router checks.

Last verified: Updated: TIME_SENSITIVE

Diagnostic order

  1. Check current service status and maintenance notices.
  2. Test another online game on the same connection.
  3. Contact support with platform, code and timestamp.

Read the service state first

Check Activision Online Services and the network status for PlayStation, Xbox, Battle.net, Steam or the platform in use. If the platform indicator is degraded, wait before changing NAT. If it is green, sign in again, test another online title and note whether Warzone fails at launch, during matchmaking or after joining a match.

Platform-specific basics

On console, run the built-in internet and multiplayer tests and pause other downloads. On PC, repair or verify the game application before reinstalling. Prefer a wired connection where possible, reboot the router once and avoid permanent DMZ or broad port-opening changes. Keep the exact error code and platform version for support.

Known issue versus local issue

Activision’s known-issues page is time-sensitive and may list loadout resets, crashes or platform-specific errors. Check it before repeating a fix. When the page does not list your symptom, report the mode, region, error, hardware or console, crash time and recent update; never include account credentials.
