Warzone FPS and performance checks on PC

How to diagnose stutter, frame drops and visual settings by measuring repeatably.

Last verified: Updated: SEMI_DYNAMIC

Stable starting point

  1. Record resolution, render scale and target frame rate.
  2. Close overlays and background capture while testing.
  3. Keep a known-good preset for comparison after patches.

Check the machine before the preset

Use Activision’s current system requirements for the installed Warzone build, then close launchers, overlays and recording tools while testing. Update Windows and the graphics driver, verify files through Steam or Battle.net, and watch temperatures and available memory. A low preset cannot compensate for unsupported hardware or a thermal limit.

Prioritize frame time

Start with a stable render resolution, a sensible texture setting for available VRAM and a frame cap your system can hold in a real match. Reduce expensive effects and shadows before making the interface unreadable. Compare the same map, mode and combat distance; the lobby or firing range can hide traversal stutter and streaming costs.

Diagnose the cause

A sudden drop after an update may be a known issue, shader compilation or damaged files rather than a bad setting. Record the patch, GPU driver, map, FPS range and whether the issue is a low average or short hitch. Use Activision’s current support article for the next platform-specific test instead of applying random registry tweaks.
