VALORANT voice chat not working: settings, permissions and support
Separate device, push-to-talk, account and service causes before changing files.
Diagnostic order
- Identify hear, transmit or party-channel failure.
- Check device, permission and push-to-talk settings.
- Escalate through Riot Support without sharing credentials.
Separate voice, party and account symptoms
For VALORANT voice chat, identify whether you cannot hear, cannot transmit, cannot join party voice or only fail in a custom game. Check Riot’s current support and service notices before changing local files. A voice problem that affects every Riot account and device points to a service or network path; one account or one device points to settings or permissions.
Check permissions and the selected devices
Confirm the in-game input and output devices, voice activation mode and push-to-talk key. Then check the operating system microphone permission and whether another application has exclusive control of the device. Test the loopback or microphone indicator where Riot provides one. Make one change, restart the client and record whether the symptom changes.
Escalate with the exact Riot evidence
If settings and permissions are correct, capture the platform, region, client version, voice channel, exact error and whether text chat works. Use Riot Support’s troubleshooting route rather than registry cleaners or unofficial downloads. Never share a password, recovery code or account cookie to “unlock” voice chat.
